Every parent in this world wants their ward to be excellent in academic performance and get good grades at school. Because it would mean that they will graduate from a recognized college and get a high paying secured job. Most of the people in this world think that school provides you with ample knowledge about this world and by doing well at school will make them successful in the near future.
But the reality is a lot different, indeed it is bitterer. In school, students are just taught to repeat the same facts which would never be applied in their practical life. Their skills are judged by the results of the test.
The school never creates a learning environment for teaching potential entrepreneurs, financial skills. It just focuses on making students work for money in the future after they pass out. But don’t get my words,
“School teaches you to work for money rather than teaching you how to make money work for you”
- says Robert T. Kiyosaki, Author "Rich Dad Poor Dad"
The most knowledgeable and resourceful phase is the phase of failure. All successful business personalities have been through this. But school on the other hand, rather than teaching us how to learn from mistakes, punish us for our failures. This is a completely rubbish approach. Seriously, are we sent to school to get educated or to be a dumb factory bot?
The most important skills that are financial skills are not taught at school. Then why on earth we go to school or universities? Ultimately our aim is to pass out and start earning. The biggest irony is that people will spend thousands of dollars as college fees to get a degree but will find riskier even the investment of hundred dollars in share market.
You won’t believe me that at 18 year of age I passed out my school having commerce stream and didn’t know how to write a cheque, how to open a bank account, how to deal with taxes or how to apply for a loan but I knew how to calculate determinant of a matrix or how to calculate volume of cylinder which according to me will never help me in future. By persuading students to follow standard Dogma, school always tries to discourage creativity. School isn’t the environment to produce entrepreneurs.
Every time we are told that a degree is mandatory for earning money but ironically, 80% billionaires do not have a degree.
