YouTube is currently one of the fastest growing social media platforms when it comes to mobile devices and it is not difficult to grow over this monetized platform owing to large users of it. But still you need to provide quality content to grow.
Once your channel grows, you build a sort of fan base commonly called community. Sometimes your video hits a big blow and your channel goes viral. Here many creators (in joy) delay their videos or become non-regular with their uploads but no one can deny this fact that YouTube means regularity.
People will love a channel with 10 funny videos rather than a channel with 2 extremely funny videos. This is general attitude of viewers because they simply want more and more stuff. They do not care how much you devote your time on a single video to make it very interesting, they only want to hear from you on regular basis. Moreover paid promotions are provided mostly to regular creators.
The biggest threat of this is that you come under the eye of YouTube. If your majority of views on channel are from single video then, YouTube (organization) will simply think that you are doing some sort of click bait or scam and they start checking you manually which can cause you trouble.
So, be regular with your quality content even if your video goes extremely viral because that’s what your audience expects from you.
