How to monetize your hobby?
We all have hobbies or say ‘the things we love to invest our time in without feeling guilty’. No! Instagram and Facebook is not a hobby. Your hobbies maybe books, painting, bikes, singing, fitness, gardening, writing and the list goes on. We find it hard to take time for our hobbies in today’s world. That’s simply not true, we love to invest time in them but we can’t due to ‘monetary factors’. But what if I tell you, I can help you monetizing your hobby into a full scale business. Let’s discuss-
1. Understanding the market- you need to find a market of your hobby. You can start searching on google for this. You will get a lot of information there. Or simply mail us, we will reply you with needed information. You need to research on needs of your market. I recommend you to find a loophole or a problem in your market and sell the solution. That’s what apple did. Since you spend lot of time in your hobby, so there won’t be anyone better than you to analyze the problems faced by you. You can monetize the solution.
2. Personal branding- this means, creating an image of you in your industry and using it as a leverage to grow. All you need is a smartphone and you’re good to go. You can start a blog, open an Instagram page, or start a meetup group of your niche. This will build your reputation in the industry because you provide value. You can later use your platforms to earn from it by selling courses, books, promotions. For more information, you can read book by Gary vaynerchuk called “crush it”.
3. Marketing- after doing the above steps, you can move to the most crucial part called selling. You may provide the best content even have more knowledge than your competitors, but if you don’t know how to sell, you will lose the game. A book is called best ‘seller’ and not best ‘content’ for a reason. You need to take some good marketing courses and learn strategies to up your game in the field. It’s something you need to continuously to produce constant demand of your product.
4. Maintaining image- so, now you have finally monetized your blogs, your growth curve looks exponential. But wait, you’re not done here. You need to keep the curve growing or atleast normal otherwise you may suffer depression in cashflow. For that you need to automate your work. And you should handle the responsibility of maintaining an image in front of your audience. Don’t ever get into controversies. Stay silent and produce quality content like you did when you started. Millions of people join social media every day and you should focus on bringing them in your touch by running regular ad campaigns, meetups, feedback, giveaways etc.
